Wow! Your words just seem to be coming out of my mind!

Anything that happens in the universe can be analyzed from two widely different points of view. Reality runs on this duality: Any PROCESS that appears to us as evolving at the speed of light is, AT THE SAME TIME, an INSTANTANEOUS event for the massless particles that comprise that process. Force carriers travelling at the speed of light are, at the same time, the instantaneous entangled connections that create the spacetime structure itself.

This is a consequence of Special Relativity at the speed of light: time dilates so much that it stops ticking, and length contracts so much that distance dissapear. So massless quanta don’t feel any spacetime dimensions!

This is how the future can influence the past naturally: No massless quantum ever detected experienced the ticking of time. All the emission-flight-absorption processes we observe are, at the same time, instant “happenings” with no past, present or future considerations.

So massless quanta behave more or less like WORMHOLES, connecting different spacetime points in no time (for themselves). In this sense, we could say they are, effectively, teleporting instantly at infinite speed.

c speed (for us) = infinite speed (for them).

That’s why we can observe weird correlations between entangled objects at distant places. It doesn’t matter if they travelled millions of lightyears in opposite directions, those objects appear SEPARATED in spacetime to us (matter observers), but NOT SEPARATED for the massless quanta that describe their fields. For them, all the spacetime paths we relate to the entanglement event form a single ensemble, “happening” wherever/whenever they get detected.

Speed of light is the ultimate speed limit and has the same value for all matter observers because it represents a completely different concept: the incredibly distorted way in which we can perceive INSTANTANEITY. It is an artifact from our inability to reach the massless perspective. c speed is how “infinite speed” gets mapped into the spacetime frame of each matter observer.

This “relativity of spacetime” or “process/event duality” is able to explain a lot of the weird phenomena associated to Quantum Mechanics (entanglement, nondeterminism, wave/particle duality, wave function collapse, Bell’s theorem, faster than light communication, EPR paradox, Scrhödinger’s cat experiment, double-slit experiment, delayed choice experiment…)

I talk in more detail about these topics here:
