That’s the point. There’s no side that is right or wrong. Matter entities experience spacetime intervals, processes and causality, while the massless entities that support those spacetime frames of reference experience single points/instants of existence.

What we observe as a causal connection between events is always performed by a carrier going from place to place at the speed of light from our point of view.

But the true reality of those causal connections (those energy/momentum transferences we observed taking place at the speed of light) is the instantaneous “flash” of existence those massless carriers “experienced” in a single, entangled event.

All carrier detections related to a common emission event that seem to have propagated at the speed of light for the material observers share, at the same time, a common point/instant of existence with no spacetime considerations whatsoever.

Matter observers see causality where massless quanta see instantaneity. It’s not one or the other, it’s both things at the same time, all the time.

Please, take a look to my first article on Medium, where I explain the meaning and the consequences for all these dualities:

  • spacetime process (for matter) = instant event (for massless quanta)
  • light speed (for matter) = infinite speed (for massless quanta)
  • causality (for matter) = instantaneity (for massless quanta)
