As I mentioned in another story, your insight into the true meaning of the speed of light can be extended to all other universal constants.

When you try to dissect the meaning of these invariant quantities by expressing them in Planck units, you realize that the elements of reality that we usually consider fundamental can't be considered separately, because they must carefully balance between them to conform to the inexorable accounting represented by these invariant numerical values, no matter what the situation.

This is the real foundation that drives physical existence, since the constraints represented by the universal constants automatically shape our notions of causality, locality, quantization, self-consistency, conservation, or entanglement, which dictate which elements of reality are physically possible (which entities, processes, properties, and sequences can really take place) and what form the laws of nature governing their flows and concentrations can take (thermodynamics, gravitational attraction, kinetic motion, electromagnetism, relativity, quantum mechanics...)

We usually describe reality as composed of different elements governed by the laws of nature, but we always leave out the overarching constraints that rig the whole game, setting the overall conditions that allow the different pieces to exist and interact.

Reality is not first elements and laws, then conservation and consistency checks (which inevitably lead to paradoxes and singularities), it is first conservation and consistency checks, then elements and laws.
